High Schoolwho we are...
High School Ministry takes place in a variety of different places and ways here at Fair Haven. It could be during our big Sunday night program called Ignite, it could be during a moment of quiet during our Discipleship Groups, or it could be meeting for Jordan for Jets. However it goes we are always looking to help students Connect, Commit, and Change. We are dedicated to these goals....
what we do...
what we teach...
Regardless of the venue all the teach at Fair Haven is designed to be meaningful and impact students where they are at and help them take a step closer to God. If that is someone who doesn't know Jesus or has known them their who life, our teaching engages the student to figure out what it means to grow as a person, as part of a community, and in their spiritual lives.
Epic: Epic uses XP3, as the starting point for what we do. XP3 is a great topical methodology that put the reality of God into experiences and encounters that kids can (and do!) relate to. It is fun and interactive, we play games, sing songs, learn, and RESPOND. Responding may be talking to some friends about what they heard, it may be writing, it may be praying, it may be sitting in silence, but we focusing on creating meaningful experiences that connect with students. You can see some examples from XP3 here and here.
Discipleship Groups: We will be using a primarily small group discussion based method of interacting. We really hope that students learn to grow and trust in each other as they help each other follow Jesus. Much of our small group content comes from Spice Rack and we tend to look at multiple weeks of studying specific books of the Bible.
